The Znetix was born in 2000 as the Znetix, with ill-fated sponsorship under Fred Leland's ownership. The boat was Leland's last new hull, and competed under a variety of sponsors with his team until 2013. The boat now resides on the pole at the entrace to Columbia Park in the Tri-Cities.

Greg Hopp was the pilot of the Znetix boat in 2000 and 2001, as the team debuted the boat in Evansville in 2000. In 2000, the team had a best finish of 4th at the last race in San Diego, as the team finished 8th in national high points. In 2001, the team finished 3rd in high points, with a couple second-place finishes in Madison and Detroit.
