This boat was born in 1988 as the U-8 Mr. Pringle's. Scott Pierce drove the boat for its first two years, then George Woods Jr. took over the driving duties in 1990. In 1991, the team lost the Mr. Pringle's sponsorship, and ran under a variety of names. 

From 1992 thru 1994, the team was sponsored by Tide. Nate Brown drove the boat in 1994. In the Tri-Cities, the team picked up additional sponsorship from Taco Time. It finished fifth at that race. For the season overall, the boat finished third in national high points,with a best finish of second at Detroit and Lewisville, TX.
