The #8255 hull was one of the most-sponsored boats in history. The unique wingless boat campaigned under a variety of owners until its retirement in 1992.

The boat debuted in 1982 as the Oh Boy! Oberto in the Tri-Cities. Meanwhile, the Executone team campaigned the former turbine U-95 hull in four of the first seven races. The Executone team then ran the 8255 hull in the final two races of the season at San Diego and Houston. George Johnson drove the boat, and for the Executone team it finished sixth in San Diego and seventh in Houston. Between the two boats, the Executone team finished fifth in national high points in 1982.
