The 8408 hull debuted as the Executone and ran under that sponsorship for two years. The team, run by Bill Wurster, acquired the sponsorship from Pringles Potato Chips for the next two seasons. In 1988-1989, the boat ran as the US West Cellular and Risley's. The boat finished its career and was destroyed as the Oh Boy! Oberto during the famous testing crash in the Tri-Cities in 1994 with Mike Eacrett at the helm.

In 1986, Scott Pierce drove the boat in the four races that it entered. The boat had a best finish of fifth in Las Vegas to end the year. It captured ninth in national high points.
