Unlimited Hydroplane Info

U-27

Hull #0717

The Dalton Industries debuted in 2007 as part of Our Gang Racing. Designed by Dale van Wieregen, the project was formed under the premise of a group of 17 friends building an unlimited hydroplane in their spare time. Owned by Nate Brown and driven by his nephew Kip, the boat ran for many years, under a variety of sponsorships, including Red Dot, and the Spirit of Qatar. It won the 2013 Gold Cup.

In late 2014, the boat was sold to the Wiggins family of Alabama. Charley and Milt Wiggins had traditionally run grand prix hydroplanes, yet made an immediate impact in 2015. With Cal Phipps driving, the team surprisingly finished 3rd in national high points.
