The Winston Eagle started life as the Miller American in 1987. Following the change of sponsorship, the boat competed as the Miss Circus Circus and Miller High Life until the 1990 season. Steve Woomer purchased the boat for the 1991 season and ran it until the 2001 season as the Winston Eagle, Smokin' Joe's, Close Call, York, and Miss Emcor. Dr. Ken Muscatel ran the boats in 2001 and 2002, then Dave Bartush purchased the boat to run under his Spirit of Detroit team until 2012. Jay Leckrone leased the boat as Centurion Racing in 2013, and the boat has been inactive since.

In 1993, Mark Tate piloted the boat in all ten races. Its best finsh was second in Madison and Kansas City, en route to a third place finish in national high points.
