Gissburg Twin Lakes Park
R/CU has been visiting Twin Lakes Park for many years now, as it has become an unofficial home for most of model boat racing in the northwest. There are two ponds in the park; the city dictates which one we will run on.
Loading and unloading is easy for the south pond. The parking lot is adjacent to the pits. The pits is grass, with a shallow sandy slope to the water. The width of the pond dictates a tight course, so boat setup is critical.
The north pond presents more difficulty with loading and unloading, as the pits are far from the parking lot.
RV camping is sometimes allowed.
With plenty of trees to protect the course, wind is seldom a problem.
