Gissburg Twin Lakes Park
R/CU has been visiting Twin Lakes Park for many years now, as it has become an unofficial home for most of model boat racing in the northwest. There are two ponds in the park; the last few years we have exclusively been running on the north pond.
Loading and unloading is easy for the south pond. The parking lot is adjacent to the pits. The pits is grass, with a shallow sandy slope to the water. The width of the pond dictates a tight course, so boat setup is critical.
The north pond presents more difficulty with loading and unloading, as the pits are far from the parking lot. It is a larger lake for racing.
RV camping is not allowed.
With plenty of trees to protect the course, wind is seldom a problem.
