The unique low-wing Miss Renault debuted in 1983 under sponsorship from the Renault Car Company. Despite the lucrative pockets of the team, the team and boat only competed for two years. It was eventually acquired by the Rutt brothers and competed as the automotive-powered Edge Superior Performer in 1991.
With E. Milner Irvin at the wheel for 1983, the Miss Renault debuted at the second race of the season at Miami. It competed in eight of the 11 races of the year, highlighed by a win in the World Championships in Houston. In 1984, E. Milner Irvin and Jim Kropfeld shared the cockpit. The team finished 8th in national high points after competing in 9 of the 10 races, with a best finish of 3rd in Evansville and the Tri-Cities.
