This hull started life as the Charlie's Girl, powered by an automotive engine. After a few years of minimal success, the hull was purchased by the Evans brothers starting in 1980. Sponsored by KW3 (KWWW) Radio in Wenatchee, Mitch Evans drove the boat for three races in 1981 in Tri-Cities, Seattle, and San Diego, failing to qualify in each. In 1982, the boat failed to qualify at the Tri-Cities before picking up alternate sponsorship for Seattle.
