The #8255 hull was one of the most-sponsored boats in history. The unique wingless boat campaigned under a variety of owners until its retirement in 1992.

Fred Leland piloted the boat in 1983 as the boat was featured in a successful ad campaign, "Indiana Fred and the Vessel of Vroom." Earlier in the year, the boat had campaigned as the American Speedy Printing, and then finished the year as the Miss Houston. As the Miss Rock, the team competed in the Tri-Cities and Seattle, finishing a best of 7th. For the year, the team finished 9th in national high points.
