The Miss Technicolor first came to life as the Notre Dame in 1972 and 1973, before taking on a variety of sponsorships from 1974-1976. The boat last ran in 1981 as the Captran Resorts. 

The boat ran as the Miss Valvoline in the opening race in Miami. Tom Sheehy piloted the boat to a 5th place finsih.
