Hull #9701

This boat was a unique experiment for the Leland Racing team. Designed with the air intake in front and below the driver, the hull never quite worked as well as it intended. It competed under a variety of names during the 1997 season after it was reconfigured to a standard profile hull, then was leased to Ray Forsman for the 2000 season. Currently, the hull is still owned by the Leland racing team, and is being used for display purposes.

Mark Evans drove the boat when it competed for Leland's "A" team as the Pico American Dream. It failed to qualify at its desbut in Norfolk, VA, then withdrew as the team's second boat in the Tri-Cities. Under additional sponsors as the U-99, it logged a best of third at Madison as the Miss R.S. Eastin with Mark Weber driving.
