Hull #8701

Bernie Little's second turbine hull was born in 1987. The boat was very successful out of the gate, winning the national championship in 1987 and 1988. The boat was shelved in 1989 for the T-3 hull, but was brought to most races for the next few years and raced off and on.

Chip Hanauer drove the the Budweiser boats in 1994. The team competed three boats, the T-2, the T-3, and T-4. The T-2 was first brought to Evansville but was withdrawn in favor of the T-3, then finished the last three races for the team in Seattle, San Diego, and Honolulu. The T-2 had a personal best of second at Hawaii, leading to a national championship.
