This hull made its debut in 1987 as part of Fran Muncey's team. In 1988, the team switched sponsorship to Circus Circus Casino. The team also campaigned a backup boat, the 8401 hull. 

For the final two races in San Diego and Las Vegas, the team ran under sponsorship from Miller High Life. Chip Hanaeur drove the boat, as the team finished 4th in national high points. It collect one victory, at the APBA Gold Cup in Evansville.
