This hull made its debut in 1972 as the U-7 Notre Dame. It was campaigned for 10 years, and ran under a variety of names, including the U-76 Miss Northwest Tank Service, U-77 Spirit of Dayton-Walther, and U-20 Captran Resorts. The hull is now owned by Paul LaMarre Jr., of Lincoln Park, MI, with hopes of restoration.
In 1972, the U-7 Notre Dame made its debut at the first race of the season in Miami. It raced in 5 of the 7 races, finishing 7th in national high points. Dean Chenoweth was the primary driver, and the team had a best finish of 2nd at the Seafair Trophy race in Seattle to cap off the end of the season.
