This was the first and only cabover hull campaigned by Ole Bardahl, and it was an ill-fated hull. The boat was originally supposed to be ready by the 1965 season, but could not be completed in time. In 1966, the team debuted the new hull. Tragically, the boat nosed in and crashed in its second race in Washington DC, killing its driver Ron Musson on a day known around hydroplane circles as Black Sunday.
