At the July 7th R/CU Board Meeting, plans for the 2020 season were set. We are very fortunate that Kittitas County and Ellensburg are in Phase 3 of the state’s re-opening plan which allows for our races. Even with that, we will be one of the few groups conducting an activity of this size. We must treat this as a privilege and have everyone adhere to our R/CU Safety Plan. Please read and prepare to follow this plan.
Our season is planned to consist of the six remaining race weekends previously announced. Please plan on all of these races being held in Ellensburg as other race sites do not look like they will reach Phase 3 soon. We will not have a season high point competition in any of our classes. The goal is to stay safe and have fun. Race wins will count for your career totals as will your points. As we were not able to hold the 2019 Banquet this year, we will look forward to holding the Banquet in April of 2021.
For this weekend, the R/CU trailer will arrive at 9:00am on Saturday morning. Please do not set up your canopy until the driver’s stand and pit setup has been completed. We will have Pit Coordinators working with each racer to ensure we have adequate space between canopies. Please bring your face coverings and hand sanitizer. Face coverings will be required while on the driver’s stand. If you are unable or unwilling to wear a face covering, you may drive from the ground with proper social distancing. If you do not have a face covering or hand sanitizer, RCU will provide them for you.
The motto for this year is Stay Safe – Have Fun.
