U-7

Hull #9601

This boat debuted in 1996 as the T-5 Miss Budweiser, and is one of the winningest hulls in hydroplane history. Ted Porter and the Precision Performance Equipment LLC team purchased the boat prior to the 2006 season. Now, the hull is run by the Spirit of Detroit team owned by Dave Bartush.

In 2008, Mike Allen drove the boat as the Formulaboats.com II. Mike Allen drove it in the first three races of the season. He finished third in Evansville and Madison, before flipping in the non-contest race in Detroit. The team opted to use the backup boat for the rest of the year (#9010) with Jimmy Shane, and the U-7 finished fifth in national high points.
